A slapstick heist roguelite

Mr. Sun's Hatbox is a 2D platformer where you run a small crew of hat thieves trying to steal back a stolen delivery from Mr Moon and his troublemakers. Missions range from wave-based action to espionage, and each one ends with a tougher Hat Heist. Between runs you collect crowns to unlock perks, so a failed attempt still moves your crew forward. Hats are the main tool: over 50 of them, each with its own property, from practical to pointless. Some are useful, some are loud, and some are just funny.

Playing together

You can play solo or bring friends along. Couch Co-op works with controllers, and Steam Remote Play Together lets someone join over the internet using their own controller. Missions are shared, so you decide together who goes in quiet and who goes in loud. There is also competitive play: 1v1 and Last Hat Standing, where you bring swords, machine guns, and stale baguettes. Local competitive play needs controllers.

Building your operation

Your HQ grows over time. Add a Brig to brainwash captives, a Lab to experiment on staff, and a Black Market for contraband. Captured enemies can be eliminated or recruited, and every character has quirks that help or hurt on a given mission. A Butter Fingers with near-sightness is not your sniper; an Animal Trainer with quick reflexes might be. Pick the right person for the job.

Before you start

Expect a roguelite loop: missions get harder, you lose progress on a run, but crowns and perks carry over. The pixel art is bright and busy, and the tone is comedy first. If you want to play with friends locally, have controllers ready.
