A driving life in a living open world
Motor Town: Behind The Wheel puts you behind the wheel of over 50 cars, trucks and trailers in a 24 x 16 Km open world with a day and night cycle. You earn money by taking driving jobs: taxi fares, bus routes, hitchhikers, cargo runs with pickups, trucks and semi-trailers, plus special vehicle jobs like police, tow truck and ambulance. That money goes back into new cars, rentals and replacement parts. Between jobs you manage the small stuff that makes driving feel real: refueling, watching engine temperature, replacing parts, using blinkers, headlights and the horn. The tire and vehicle physics are built to be realistic yet approachable, with a driving assist feature for keyboard and controller players. Drifting is on the table too, and keyboard players can use Burnout to let the rear step out.
Playing together with friends
The game has both single-player and multiplayer modes. In multiplayer you can drive alongside friends in the open world, and the Steam features list Online Co-op and Online PvP. Racing against other players happens on on-road and off-road tracks, or you can set waypoints and open a street race event of your own. Autocross is there for sharpening your line, and time attack runs put your pace on the online leaderboard so everyone can see where they stand. There is also a company system: start one, lay out your own bus or truck route, then hire an AI driver or another player to work for it. That gives a group a shared project beyond just racing each other.
Before you start
The game is in Early Access, so content and systems can still change. It runs on keyboard, mouse, gamepad and steering wheel, and driving assist is available for keyboard and controller players. The world runs a day and night cycle, so conditions shift as you drive, and you need to keep an eye on fuel and engine temperature while out on a job. Traffic and police are part of the world, so watch out for the cops. Special vehicle jobs are listed as arriving over time, with police, tow truck and ambulance among them.
