Building a train empire
Mashinky is a transport strategy game where you run a transport company on a procedurally generated map. You lay track across difficult terrain, research and buy vehicles, set up routes, and try to turn a profit hauling passengers and cargo. The game combines realistic 3D landscapes with an isometric construction mode that works on a grid, so every change to your traffic layout becomes a puzzle to solve. You can start with a simple line between two stations or build a bigger network with junctions and signals to keep things running efficiently.
As you earn money, you upgrade industry buildings, stations, and depots, and improve your trains with new engines and special wagons. Each upgrade brings something useful, like more capacity, new processing rules, or new cargo types. The game ships with the first 5 of 7 eras, so your network grows from steam power hauling coal and wood toward more advanced vehicles and industries. You can also leave construction mode to ride one of your trains or just watch the network you built from the 3D view.
Playing together
Mashinky supports Online Co-op and Online PvP, so your group can either work on a shared transport network or compete against each other. The Steam Workshop is available for community mods, which lets you extend the game and change how it plays before you all jump in.
Before you start
The game is in Early Access, so expect it to change over time. The store text tags it as difficult and realistic, which fits a simulation where you have to weigh costs, routes, and upgrades to stay profitable. There is a level editor and mod support, so your group can tailor the map and rules to what you want out of a session.
