Build a railway across a generated world

Infinite Rails is a railway-building simulation set in an endless, procedurally generated world. You lay track, connect stations, transport passengers and goods, mine resources, and spend what you earn on new locomotives. Every region has its own landscape and resources, from rolling plains to rugged mountains, so the route you plan in one place will not work the same way somewhere else. The world is yours to reshape: carve through terrain, bridge rivers, and flatten a path so your trains can run smoothly. Track-laying tools handle junctions, loops, and switches, and you can place your own stations or use the procedurally generated ones that come with their own features and challenges. Stations can be upgraded to handle more trains, resources, and passengers.

Run the network and drive the trains

Building is only half of it. You transport passengers, wood, and wood beams across your network, and mine and sell coal at the coal mine to fund expansion and buy more trains. Market prices fluctuate, and resources are limited, so storing goods and planning routes matters as much as laying track. Booster buildings placed around industries speed up production. When you want a break from planning, you can step into the cab and drive your locomotives yourself. Four models are available for now: Locomotive 702, Chme3, V100, and Class 08, each with its own handling and fuel type. Some can be renamed and repainted, and their performance, appearance, and capacity can be upgraded.

Playing with friends

You can play solo or team up with friends over online co-op, with dedicated server support. Working together makes large projects faster: one person lays track while another builds stations, terraforms terrain, or keeps the industries running. You can split up across regions of the same world, share ideas for layouts, and take on the sandbox either cooperatively or competitively. Since the world is generated fresh each time, a group starting together gets a map none of you have seen before.

Before you start

The game is in Early Access, so features and content can change as development continues. Expect a top-down, realistic simulation with 3D and first-person views for driving, and a focus on planning, logistics, and terrain work rather than fast action. It runs as a singleplayer game as well as a multiplayer one, so you can learn the track tools and economy on your own before bringing friends in.
