What Mad Streets is
Mad Streets is a physics-based beat 'em up party game set at Gutsford University, home of some of the toughest students in town. You pick a fighter from one of the factions — the Jocks, the Punks, or the Rich kids — and brawl to settle scores. Combat targets specific areas of the body, and you can experiment with silly button combo attacks or throw out an ultimate special move. The physics do a lot of the work: hits send bodies tumbling in ways that read as much comedy as fighting. The whole thing is built for quick pick-up-and-play sessions rather than long practice sessions.
Playing together
You can brawl alone or with up to four other players, locally or online. In solo play, Mad Rush mode lets you recruit three AI companions to run through fights and objectives. With friends, you can compete head on in brawls or join forces on team-based objectives. Matches are customizable: choose how the match is judged, pick the location, or include a referee to judge the bout. You can also grab and throw anything you can lift — bins, cans, trays, even your friends.
Online mode is dedicated to Random and Rumble modes and depends purely on the host's internet connection. For a more open experience with friends, the game suggests Steam's Remote Play feature or Parsec.
Modes to know before starting
Mad Rush Mode is a team run through a series of fights and objectives that unlocks each faction's story. Random Matches drop the story and mix straight fighting with lightning-fast unique objectives — first to 5 points wins. Rumble Mode is a simple versus tournament with no objectives, and playing it unlocks new characters and locations. ONE PUUUUUNCH is exactly what it sounds like: one punch, one winner. Enter the Stadium collects all the different game objectives and special fights, so you can settle any score you didn't succeed at earlier.
