Farm an alien world from a mech
Lightyear Frontier puts you in a customizable mech on a verdant exoplanet in the Lightyear Frontier. Your mech handles the heavy work: planting, watering, and harvesting large fields of alien crops, plus gathering and managing resources. Crop rotation matters for getting the most out of your fields. Beyond farming, you build and expand a retro-futuristic homestead, craft new parts and mod chips to tune your mech's performance, explore the open world, meet interplanetary neighbors, and send your harvest to remote colonies. The game is in Early Access.
Play with up to three friends
You can invite up to three friends to join you, for four players total. Everyone works on the same journey of settling and exploration, pooling resources to build the homestead together and sharing the harvest. The Steam features list includes Online Co-op, so you team up over the internet rather than on one screen.
What to know before starting
Expect a mix of farming, base building, resource management, and open-world survival crafting rather than a single focused activity. You will be planting and rotating crops, building out your farm piece by piece, crafting and improving your mech, and exploring the surrounding world for resources and neighbors. Since it is in Early Access, the game is still being developed, so content and systems can change over time.
