A universe built for automation

Astro Colony drops you into an endless procedurally generated universe made of fully destructible voxel planets. Your job is to set up colonies, connect them, and make the whole network run smoothly. The core loop is building: gather resources, put them through production chains, and feed the next stage of construction. Conveyor belts and pipes are how you move things around, so a good colony is one where materials flow without you hauling them by hand. The game also lets you move stations and dock them, so you can piece together a galaxy network of your own design rather than being tied to one spot.

Running a colony for Astronauts

Building alone is not the point. You recruit Astronauts and then have to look after them: food and shelter are the basic needs you cover, and keeping them supplied is what keeps the colony running. Research sits alongside this, with over 70 unique technologies to work through as your colony develops. Progress is gated by what you have unlocked, so your transport systems, production setups, and the layout of your stations all feed into how fast you move forward. The universe also contains varied biomes, hundreds of plants, and unknown ground to uncover as you travel between colonies.

Playing with friends

Astro Colony supports online co-op. You can play on your own, host a lobby for your friends, or join lobbies hosted by other players. Co-op suits the game well because a larger colony means more ground to cover: one person can push exploration and station placement while another wires up conveyor systems and production lines, and someone else handles Astronauts and research. Coordinating who builds which part of the network is where the strategy comes in.

Before you start

Expect a game that is mostly about planning and logistics rather than quick action. The universe is infinite, so there is always more to expand into, but expansion only pays off if your transport and production are set up to handle it. Also keep in mind that exploration is not purely safe: the game warns that danger lurks around the corner as you traverse the universe and encounter unexpected events.
