What Kitty Ball is
Kitty Ball is a quick multiplayer match where each of you plays a cat with its own color and its own ball of yarn. The goal is simple: unwind your ball faster than everyone else. Only one cat lifts the Gold Cup at the end, so every second spent not unwinding is a second someone else gains. The matches are short and arcade-like, with quick-time events driving the action, and the whole thing is drawn in a colorful, hand-drawn cartoon style that stays family friendly.
Playing together as a group
You can create a custom game and invite up to 4 of your friends to fight for first place. Everyone joins the same match, each with their own colored yarn, and the race is on. If your group is spread across devices, that is fine: friends can join whether they are on a computer or a smartphone, so nobody has to sit out because of hardware. If you would rather not organize anything, you can also join a game with players from around the world. The Steam side of things lists online PvP, so the competition is always against other people rather than bots.
How to get ahead
Unwinding your own ball is only half of it. You can throw your ball at the other cats to knock them out and slow them down, which buys you the room you need to finish. Beyond the other players, the house is not empty. Hector the bulldog is never far away and his one goal is to crunch you, so he will interrupt your progress if you let him get close. There are also mice in the house that can pull your attention away from your ball. Staying focused on your own yarn while watching for the dog and the mice is what separates a clean win from a frustrating loss.
Before you start
Kitty Ball is free to play and covers casual, indie and strategy ground, so expect short rounds you can jump into without learning a deep system. It works on both computer and smartphone, and you can either host a private match for your friends or drop into a public one. The tags point to a cute, atmospheric 2D brawler with score attack energy, so treat it as a fast, competitive party game rather than something you settle in for over a long evening.
