What Kingspray Graffiti VR is
Kingspray Graffiti VR is a multiplayer VR graffiti simulator built around a realistic spray system. You get a wide range of caps, pressure and fading that behave like real paint, plus wet and dry effects, drips, metallics and a set of real-world colors from Ironlak. The interface is kept simple so you can start painting quickly: colors and pressure are customizable, there is undo and redo, and you can sample a color straight off the wall to get it back exactly. The environments are detailed and varied, from a dusky city rooftop to a dark train yard at night to an abandoned subway station. Sandbox locations add more paint surfaces to work on, including trucks, vans, corrugated iron, plaster, bricks, concrete, a giant spray can and a baseball cap.
Playing together
Multiplayer supports up to four simultaneous painters, so you and your friends can work side by side. The long and tall paint surfaces are made for large murals, which suits a group splitting up one big wall or each taking a section. Beyond painting, the world has interactive objects to mess around with between sprays: cinder blocks you can hurl, beer bottles you can smash, ladders, adjustable scaffolding and a driveable scissor lift to reach higher spots, plus a functioning Etch A Sketch. The interactive tutorial system walks you through the features, either in full or by letting you pick what you want to learn, which is handy when someone new joins.
Before you start
Every spray you make is stored, so you can replay your whole creation from the beginning with full control over playback speed, either watching yourself in VR or using the Director Camera System for a more cinematic view of the session. The phone handles saving and loading through photos and selfies with filters, and a 360 camera can be dragged around the world to capture panoramas. A projector can beam reference images or sketches onto the paint surfaces, and you can reposition it and pick up your work later with the reference still in place. It is a first-person VR experience, so a headset is the way in.
