Pure kart racing, no weapons
Karting Superstars is an arcade kart racer built around clean motorsport racing rather than item-based chaos. There are no weapons on track, so the racing comes down to your line, your braking points and how well you use drafting to close gaps. The physics model is designed to feel approachable at first but leave plenty of room to get faster as you learn the tracks. You get 6 tracks with 16 different layouts to work through, plus kart and driver customization so your setup looks right on the grid. The game is in Early Access, so things can still change as development continues.
Racing together online
Online multiplayer lets you race against up to 12 players from around the globe. Note that collisions are currently turned off, with the team working on them, so online races are about clean lines and positioning rather than contact. Alongside live races, Time Trials let you chase your best times and put your name on the global leaderboards. You can drive with the ghosts of friends or the world's best to see how they tackle each track, and global ghosts show you how players everywhere are handling a corner. Replays let you re-watch your races from different angles, study your own racing lines and those of your opponents, and record moments to share.
What to know before starting
Single player runs against a dynamic AI that adjusts its difficulty to your skill, so the field stays competitive whether you are starting out or pushing for faster times. Kartcore mode lets you build your own race events and tournaments against AI drivers. There is no split screen multiplayer, no live race spectating, no career mode, one style of kart, and no performance upgrades, so progression is about your own driving rather than unlocking faster machinery. Controller support is listed, and the game carries eSports and competitive tags if ranked play is what you are after.
