What Karting is

Karting is an arcade racing game where you drive a kart and chase better times. The tracks run from a simple circuit up to a Japanese mountain pass, so you get both open, straightforward laps and tighter roads where the corners matter. The game leans on its physics to make driving feel lively — the tagline that sums it up is that victory goes to the one who takes the most risks. There are more than 14 maps and more than 5 karts to work through, which gives you plenty of variety when you want a different route or a different ride.

Playing together

You can start a race solo or jump into multiplayer and take on other players, with online PvP available. Alongside racing people, you can also beat the AI on the same maps. Live chat is built in, so you can talk to other players while you race instead of switching to another app. Score Attack is part of the setup, which suits groups that want to compare times and keep pushing for a better result on a track you have all already played.

Before you start

The game is tagged as family friendly and casual, so it fits a relaxed session as well as a competitive one, and it is listed as relaxing alongside the racing and action tags. It is a third-person racer, and an Xbox controller is usable if you would rather drive with a pad than a keyboard. Expect a mix of short, quick races and longer attempts at a record time — the score attack side means the same map stays interesting once you have learned where to take the risk.
