Hide in Plain Sight

Just Act Natural is an online party game built around deception. One player takes the role of the Seeker while the others blend in with the NPC characters scattered around the stage. The goal is to move and behave like everyone else so the Seeker cannot pick you out. Rounds run one after another, and the roles swap so everyone gets a turn hunting and hiding. The game is strictly online multiplayer and needs at least two people to start a match.

Playing Together

Sessions are built for groups, supporting up to eight players in asymmetric matches. The pool of game modes and stages keeps growing, and each round can throw a different setup at the group. Both roles come with a set of items and power ups to pick before the round starts. Hiders use theirs to stay concealed, Seekers use theirs to root people out. Tracking which items other players have already spent becomes part of the mind games, since you can read a round based on what is still in reserve.

Before You Start

Everything in Just Act Natural is hand sculpted out of clay and photographically scanned, which gives the stages and characters a distinct look. The soundtrack was composed by Matthew Rock. The game is in Early Access, and the free version covers a subset of the content: the Premium version adds extra game modes and maps. Matchmaking exists, but the player base is small, so the developers point people toward their Discord server to find others to play with.
