Commanding the Frontline

Joint Task Force is a real-time strategy game where you take command of frontline forces across twenty missions set in the Middle East, Central Asia, and the Balkans. The campaign is split into five campaigns plus a tutorial, with an elaborate storyline running through them. You bring superior tactics and military technology to bear against dangerous and unconventional forces. Success comes from the principle of combined arms: infantry, tanks, artillery, reconnaissance and helicopters are each strongest when used together, and your men's lives depend on your level-headed strategy.

Tools on the Battlefield

Several tools feed into your decisions. Satellite recon is at your disposal, and a news channel provides background information and live coverage of the battle. You can manipulate media and civilians as part of your approach. Weather is dynamic and affects game flow, terrain objects are destructible, and units and buildings use realistic physics. The maps cover several terrain types: desert, winter valley, rocky mountain, jungle and cave. Heroes can be invested in and carried to the next mission.

Playing Together

Multiplayer supports up to 8 players over LAN and internet, with Domination, Deathmatch and Cooperative modes, plus a brand new multiplayer mode. The campaign is playable in multiplayer, so your group can work through the story together rather than only fighting head to head. Remote Play Together is available as a Steam feature.
