A submarine sim you can actually jump into
IronWolf: Free Non-VR Edition is a co-op submarine game that keeps a light touch on realism, so the submarine sim genre opens up to more players. It was built from the ground up for VR, and this is the standalone non-VR version. You command a submarine through fast-paced naval combat: unleash torpedoes on enemy ships, man the .50 cal machine gun to shoot down fighters and bombers, and try to survive depth charges dropped by deadly destroyers.
Playing together online
Cooperative online multiplayer is the core of the game. Your crew hunts enemy merchant convoys, duels with enemy destroyers, frigates and battleships, and works together to repel enemy planes. Everyone has a job aboard, from firing torpedoes to working the anti-aircraft guns, so coordination matters when a destroyer starts dropping depth charges around you.
What to know before you start
You can also play on your own by enabling assists to your requirements, so a solo run is a supported way to experience the missions. This free version includes all of the missions from the original IronWolf VR plus randomly generated missions. It does not include the map-based OpenWorld gameplay, submarine upgrades or leaderboards — those belong to IronWolf VR, along with the VR experience itself.
