A one vs. one Halloween prank match

Hide and Shriek is a free multiplayer game where you play an invisible student sneaking into school after midnight. The students of Little Springs High and Innsmouth Academy are honoring an ancient tradition: turning invisible and scaring each other. Each match lasts ten minutes and is played one vs. one against a friend or a stranger. Your goal is to scare your opponent before the timer runs out. If nobody has a clear lead when time stops, whoever has the most points wins.

Scoring points through scares, traps, and rituals

You earn points by scaring your opponent, luring them into traps, or completing an ancient ritual. Since you are both invisible, you need to reveal your opponent first. Set cunning traps and cast potent spells to flush them out, then sneak up and give them a good scare. Watch for signs of movement: doors opening, objects flying through the air, or a trap springing. The same clues give away your position, so stay careful. Over thirty spells are available, each with its own mischievous effect. Blind your opponent, booby-trap doors, unleash a demon on them, and more. Shriek at your opponent to scare them, and wear scary masks of famous characters like Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Skulls and zombie heads can be modified with accessories such as gooey eyeballs and bloody hatchets.

What to know before starting

This is a competitive game, so the player on the other side is hunting you at the same time you hunt them. Ten minutes is short, and both of you are invisible for the whole match, which means patience and observation matter as much as quick reactions. The game carries tags for sexual content and horror, so keep that in mind before you jump in. You can play with friends or queue up against strangers, and there are leaderboards to climb if you want to keep coming back.
