What HEART of CROWN Online is
HEART of CROWN Online is a deck-building card game based on the tabletop HEART of CROWN 2nd Edition, relaunched in 2022. The emperor has died without a successor, and seven princesses are candidates for the throne. You are one of the most powerful figures in the empire, and your job is to establish the throne quickly so the continent keeps its peace instead of sliding back into war. You build your deck as you play, earning money from your estates to buy new lands and action cards, then use what you've gathered to recruit senators, dukes and other influential people to your side. Each princess carries a powerful effect, so the choice of who to back matters as much as the cards in hand.
How a group plays it together
This is a four-player turn-based game with online PvP, including ranked matches and free matches, plus online cross-play support. Everyone takes turns building up their position, and the shared goal is the succession score: once your score reaches 20 points, you are crowned and the throne is yours. Because the princesses are a limited pool, timing is part of the fight — the game puts it plainly that the early bird gets the worm, so committing to a princess before someone else does is a real decision. Playing against the same opponents over several turns means reading what they're buying and how close they are to crowning.
Before you start
There is also a full Scenario Mode for players who want a solo campaign, so you can learn the systems away from live matches. Expect a game that mixes card battler tactics with turn-based strategy: you are growing a deck, managing money from estates, and racing a point threshold rather than reducing opponents to zero. The setting is a fantasy empire where swords and magic still rule, with seven princess candidates including two of direct descent. Pick your princess with care, gather your influential allies, and push your succession score to 20 before anyone else reaches the crown.
