A comic book you shoot through
Fury Unleashed is a fast-paced side-scrolling roguelike where every room is a panel of a living comic book. You play as John Kowalsky's hero, blasting through worlds that mix hand-designed levels with procedural generation, so the layout changes each run. Ink is the resource that matters here: kill enemies quickly enough and you build fury, which lets you rip through everything in your path as long as you stay uninjured. Chain that together and you can push for a full playthrough in one long combo. The run ends when you die, but permanent upgrades carry over to the next attempt, so each failure still moves you forward. Along the way you pick up items that suit your build, expand your weaponry, and choose hero skills to match how you want to play. There are 40 bosses spread across visually distinct comic books, each with its own enemies.
Playing with your group
You can go solo or bring a friend along for a co-op session. The game supports online co-op and Remote Play Together, plus local co-op, so you can sit on the same couch or link up over the internet. Co-op runs use the same rules as solo play: you fight through panels, keep the combo going, and share the permanent upgrades that persist after death. Since the levels are partly generated, two groups playing the same world will not see identical layouts, which keeps repeat sessions from feeling like a rerun.
Before you start
Pick your difficulty up front. Hard mode tests your skills directly, while Easy mode lets you adjust the difficulty parameters yourself. Death is permanent for the current run, so expect to restart and rebuild rather than continue from a checkpoint. The game draws on old-school platformer shooters like Contra and Metal Slug alongside modern roguelites like Dead Cells and Rogue Legacy, which means tight shooting, quick reflexes, and a steep learning curve if you chase flawless play. You can customize your hero's appearance, including replacing the face graphic with your own image. The soundtrack comes from Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz, known for their work on The Witcher, Bulletstorm, and Shadow Warrior 2.
