A bullet hell dungeon that rearranges itself every run

Enter the Gungeon is a top-down shooter where you fight through floors packed with bullets, enemies and bosses. The Gungeon itself is a maze built from hand-designed rooms dropped into a procedurally generated layout, so the path through it changes from run to run. It also answers your successes by raising the stakes, so later floors get harder as you push down. Between fights you pick through loot, find hidden corners, and talk to merchants and shopkeepers who sell items that give you an edge. The goal the heroes are chasing is the Gungeon's ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past.

Guns, rolls and dodging through a wall of lead

Every hero rolls across flaming walls, through bullet volleys and behind whatever cover is nearby, and that dodge roll is as much a tool as shooting. You'll pick from several unlikely heroes, each carrying a regret they want to undo, and each run hands you guns to discover and unlock. The arsenal runs from missiles, lasers and cannonballs to rainbows, fish, foam darts and bees. Ammo behavior differs per gun, so swapping weapons mid-fight changes how you approach a room. Standing in the way are the Cult of the Gundead, gun-toting disciples that use any tactic to stop you, plus the Gungeon's bosses, who are armed to the teeth.

Playing it with friends

The game supports single-player and co-op, including shared/split screen and local co-op, and Remote Play Together is available if you want to bring someone in remotely. You pick a hero or team up and battle toward the bottom of the Gungeon together. Controller support is full, Steam Cloud keeps your progress synced, and Steam Achievements track what you've pulled off. Family Sharing is supported as well.

Before you start a run

Deaths are part of the structure: the dungeon rebuilds itself each attempt, so knowledge of room layouts, enemy behavior and gun quirks is what carries forward. Expect a steep challenge that climbs as you clear floors, and expect to lose runs on the way down. There's also a Collector's Edition bundle that adds the soundtrack, a digital comic, and an instant unlock of the Microtransaction Gun, with an upgrade path for people who already own the base game.
