Flying dogs, a whale, and a festival in the sky
Flock of Dogs is a top-down co-op roguelike where you ride flying dogs that live on a floating whale. Your group is traveling down the Air River toward the Flying Festival at the end, and the world along the way is hand-drawn and procedurally generated, so no two trips look the same. You battle monsters, descend into caves to fight massive Cave Beasts, and meet critters and folks who need help getting to the party. Between fights there are minigames at the dog park when your group wants a break from the road trip.
Playing together as a group
The game supports 1-8 players online and/or locally, and two people can share a single keyboard. Progression is tied to the dogs and the whale rather than individual characters, so anyone can join or drop out mid-session without falling behind. The whale itself is a mobile battle station you pilot together, and you feed, water, and level up your dogs as you go. Alongside the co-op run there's online PvP, so groups that want to fight each other instead of monsters have that option too.
The Friend Slot and what to know before starting
One Friend Slot comes with each purchase of Flock of Dogs. A friend who doesn't own the game can download the "Flock of Dogs - Friend's Pass" and join your session, and you can invite a different friend each time. Slots stack: if two people in the group own the game, two more can join through the pass, making a team of four. Remote Play Together is also supported. The game is a 2D twin-stick shooter with a cartoon, colorful look, and the music was made by the developer's friends and family.
