Fighting fires across a big US city

Firefighting Simulator - The Squad puts you on the crew of a major US city's fire department. You get called out to over 40 deployment locations spread across a 15k acres townscape inspired by the North American Westcoast, from the industrial area to the suburbs and downtown. The job is the same every time: get there fast, put the fire out, and rescue civilians. Fires come in many forms, including grease fires, electronics, chemicals, and explosions, and the simulation covers water, smoke, heat, back drafts, flashovers, and dynamically spreading fire with a physics system that shows the destruction it causes. Missions run both day and night.

Rolling out with your crew

You can play with up to three friends in co-op, and inside the team each person is free to take whichever role suits them. Everyone works from the same call: start the engine, flip on the lights and siren, pick the shortest route to the deployment location, then fight the fire together. In single player you lead an experienced team of AI colleagues instead, using an intuitive command UI to assign tasks while you jump into the action yourself. Either way you are working with faithful Rosenbauer America fire trucks, including the TP3® Pumper and the T-Rex® hydraulic platform, driven in a large city and also in cockpit view.

Gear and things to know before starting

You get authentic firefighting equipment from well-known North American manufacturers, such as Cairns® helmets, MSA G1® SCBA breathing apparatus, and HAIX® boots. A comprehensive tutorial walks through the basics of fighting fires before you take real calls, and radio communications plus character recordings in English carry the missions along, with subtitles in several languages. Engine sounds are faithfully recreated. The game supports standard steering wheels and gamepads. Each of the 40 deployment locations offers several ways to beat the fires, so there is room to try different approaches on repeat runs.
