Three services in one open world

Flashing Lights drops you into an open world where you pick a service and take on missions built for it. Police work runs from parking tickets to chasing down dangerous suspects, with the fastest vehicles and equipment for stopping crime in progress. Fire department calls mean battling flames, freeing trapped civilians with spreaders, and cutting open crashed cars so medical staff can reach the casualty. EMS work is diagnosis and treatment: medical kits, stretchers, and ambulances, keeping patients alive until they're safe. Each department has its own roster of vehicles and equipment to operate while on duty, so the tools and the job change completely when you switch services.

Playing together in co-op

You can play solo or join up to 10 players online. The group splits across police, fire and EMS however you like, then drives out to where you're needed. A typical session might have one player chasing a fleeing criminal while others work an accident scene — fire cutting the wreck open, EMS treating the casualty. Missions are shared work rather than separate tracks, so the departments overlap on the same incidents in the world. The tone is up to you: proper role-play with everyone staying in character, or just relaxed driving and messing around with friends.

Before you start

Official mod support is built into the game, and you browse and install mods in-game. The selection covers player-created content such as police, fire and EMS vehicle liveries inspired by emergency services worldwide, plus alternate uniforms for all three departments. Missions differ per service, so a group that wants variety can rotate who plays what between runs. Expect driving and physics to matter — vehicles, crashes and equipment handling are central to how each call plays out.
