Fighting fires across a Midwest city

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite puts you in the boots of a U.S. firefighter working in a large American Midwest city. Missions throw real firefighting problems at you: trapped civilians, electric fires, flammable liquids, grease fires, backdrafts, flashovers, and explosions. Fire, heat, water, and smoke are simulated in real time with Unreal Engine 5, so conditions change as you work and thick smoke can push through closed doors. You get authentic tools to handle it, including fire hoses, saws, Halligan tools, axes, and extinguishers, plus licensed Rosenbauer America trucks such as the TP3® Pumper, Viper®, and 68' Roadrunner. Between calls you return to the fire station hub, where you can practice techniques, inspect the vehicle fleet, and pick your next assignment.

Playing with your crew

You can run missions solo with an NPC-controlled crew filling out your squad, or team up online with up to 3 friends for 4-player co-op. Either way the work splits naturally: someone drives the truck and takes the shortest route to the scene, others handle hoses, ventilation, and cutting through obstacles. Missions call for real strategies like cooling overheated objects, reducing air drafts, and picking the right extinguishing agent for the fire in front of you. Communication matters, since a backdraft or flashover can develop while you are focused on something else.

Before you start

Expect a linear, mission-based structure rather than an open sandbox, with a third-person camera and a focus on realistic simulation. You choose from 8 characters and different outfit sets, and gear comes from brands like HAIX®, Fire-Dex, and STIHL. On PC you can create modding missions and share them through Mod io; on console you can download and play new modding missions from the Mod io hub. The fire station hub is the place to learn tool use before you commit to a call, so take advantage of it early.
