Guide both heroes and the fairies
Fireboy & Watergirl: Fairy Tales is a 2D puzzle platformer by Oslo Albet set in a fantasy forest. You control both Fireboy and Watergirl, and this time forest fairies help along the way, so your attention splits across several characters at once. The goal in every level is to reach the finish doors, and along the way you solve the puzzles, beat the timers and pick up the diamonds scattered around the stage. The levels are built around using each character's strengths and the fairies' support together, which means progress depends on timing and coordination rather than quick reflexes alone.
Thirty levels, alone or with a friend
The game contains 30 new levels to work through. You can play the whole thing solo, swapping between the characters as the situation demands, or bring a friend along so each of you takes control of part of the action. On top of that, Steam's Remote Play Together lets someone join in over the internet as if you were sitting on the same couch, so the co-op runs even when you are not in the same room. Local co-op is on the table too. Whichever way you set it up, the fairies still need directing, so expect to share responsibility for the whole group rather than one character each.
What to expect before you start
This is a puzzle platformer first and an action game second: most levels are about reading the layout, deciding who goes where, and waiting for the right moment to move. Every stage has a time element to beat and diamonds to collect, so a level is not simply cleared once you reach the doors — going back to clean it up is part of the loop. The presentation stays cute and light with a nature-themed fantasy look, and the difficulty comes from juggling Fireboy, Watergirl and the fairies at the same time. If you are playing solo, be ready to switch control frequently; if you are playing together, good communication is what keeps a level flowing.
