Two heroes, one temple run

Fireboy & Watergirl: Elements is a 2D puzzle platformer where you guide Fireboy and Watergirl through 7 Elemental temples. Each level asks for both characters to reach the exit, so you need to plan routes, press switches, and clear the way for each other. Along the way you can collect the diamonds scattered through the stage and try to beat the time. The game is tagged as difficult, so expect levels that take a few tries before the solution clicks.

Playing together

You can play alone, switching between the two characters, or hand one off to a friend for local co-op. Steam's Remote Play Together feature lets a friend join in even if they are not on the same machine. Good communication matters here: one player often needs to hold a platform or trigger a switch while the other moves through, so talk through who does what before you commit.

Before you start

The store tags include Gore and Violent alongside the puzzle platforming, so the temples are not entirely gentle in tone. It is a retro-styled indie game with a Souls-like edge to its difficulty, meaning repeated attempts and learning level layouts are part of the experience. Going in with a patient mindset and a co-op partner who does not mind restarting will make the 7 temples much more manageable.
