What Final Soccer VR is
Final Soccer VR is a football simulator built for virtual reality. The graphics and animations come from captured movement of professional players, so the kicking and body motion aim to read as authentic rather than cartoonish. It covers several ways to play: a striker mode where you take penalties and free kicks with your feet, a simulator mode for straight matches, and an arcade mode where you catch and throw balls to trigger power-ups like slow-motion and giant gloves. Simulator and Arcade modes both offer a quick game or a run through 150 levels against the best teams in the world.
Playing with friends
There are two ways to compete against other people. Two VR players can face each other in a real-time penalty shootout over the internet or a local network, so you can set up a match against a friend without leaving home. There is also an online mode where a VR player takes on friends playing on smartphones through the Final Kick app, taking penalty shots from the phone while the VR player sees them moving in real time. That mix of headset and phone players is the easiest way to get a group involved when not everyone owns a VR setup.
Before you start
Striker mode is tied to HTC Vive hardware. It works with three HTC trackers for a full-body simulation, with one tracker, or with a standard Vive controller strapped to your foot. The store text mentions Trackstrap as a way to attach a tracker to your foot. Simulator and Arcade modes support both Vive and Oculus. Space matters: the game can be played in a room 2 meters wide thanks to its movement assistance system, though 3 meters is recommended for comfort, and you should stay aware of your real-world boundaries while playing.
