Breaching and clearing as a cop
Fast and Low is a tactical first-person shooter set in a colorful, cartoonish city where Officer Faust and Officer Lo, plus the rest of the police force, work through 23 handcrafted missions. The job in each level is to move in, neutralize hostile threats, and rescue civilians. It plays like the old SWAT and Rainbow Six games: enemies can drop you in one or two bursts, but well-placed headshots cut them down just as fast. Every weapon has its own recoil behaviour, and you handle them realistically — manually chambering rounds, racking slides, and working each firearm the way it actually functions. There are 17 unlockable weapons, and enemy and civilian spawns are randomized so the same mission plays differently on a second run.
Playing together as a group
The standout feature is asymmetric co-op: one person plays in VR while another uses normal mouse and keyboard controls, either on the same PC or online. The VR player can physically peek around corners and blind-fire from cover, while the FPS player gets a wider set of tools and equipment. On top of local asymmetric play, the game supports online co-op for up to 4 players, and you can also play solo with an AI partner. Sandbox Mode lets the group replay unlocked missions and tweak civilian and enemy density, change your health pool, or experiment with slow motion in multiplayer. A built-in spectator camera is there for capturing footage to share.
What to know before starting
This is a violent game with gore, wrapped in a bright cartoon style — the contrast is intentional but worth flagging before you hand a headset to someone. It is genuinely difficult: expect to die quickly and learn levels through repetition. Location-based damage applies to hostiles and civilians alike, so shooting an arm disarms a hostile and shooting legs cripples them, making surrender far more likely — civilians can be hit too, so trigger discipline matters. VR players get room-scale support with several locomotion options (arm-swinging or touch-pad), snap and smooth rotation, left-handed modes, and movement comfort vignettes to reduce motion sickness.
