What Executive Assault 2 is

Executive Assault 2 mixes real-time strategy with first-person shooting in space. You build a base on an asteroid from a pool of over 70 structures, mine resources, manufacture goods and sell them to traders to earn promotions that unlock new technology. Power management matters: your installations need it, and your defence turrets need upgrading to hold off attacks. There are three distinct factions, each with its own way of mining, and a large tech tree to work through. You can also design your own units to fit the situation, customise your company with a logo and choose your goods, and build your own galaxy with the map editor.

Playing it with friends

Multiplayer supports up to 4 CEO companies, and you can fill empty seats with up to 3 AI-driven CEOs. One person can run the whole company from above, or the group can split the work: while a friend plays the CEO in RTS view, you drop in as an Executron for a pure first-person experience inside their company. As an Executron you sprint around the base, hit buttons and panels, capture outposts by fighting off Infestors, raid derelict outposts for resources and upgrades, and hack into enemy systems to steal tech or cause havoc. You can also help your friend get promoted so they unlock stronger tech.

Switching between command and combat

The switch between RTS and FPS is seamless, so you can watch the battle from above and then take over a unit yourself. That means piloting space fighters, boarding massive starships to command them, driving tanks and mechs into asteroid bases, or defending your own station as a robot. Fleets of ships, armies of robots and mechs, dropship and gateway invasions, espionage and resource theft all sit alongside the base-building layer. Battles can get large enough that entire star systems get destroyed, and rival corporations plus rebellious protestors will push back against your expansion, so expect resistance while you fight for control of the quadrant.
