A card-battling adventure on a grid
EndCycle VS is a deckbuilding game where fights take place on a grid. You build a deck from thousands of custom attacks, pick from over 20 characters, and play cards to move, strike and outmaneuver your opponent. The same deck-building loop carries you through the story campaign, where the world is on the brink of war: a rotating city, purple ice-deserts and mysterious worlds built out of data. Two teenagers end up in the middle of the biggest conflict this world has faced, and as you push through the increasingly challenging maps you choose cards and evolve your hero while uncovering forbidden truths. The tone is a mix of arcade action and old-school 2D fighter, with comedy in the writing and pixel graphics throughout.
Playing together
You can take the fight to other people locally or online, and online matches run on rollback netcode, so opponent moves stay responsive even when connections are not perfect. Deck construction is where the real match begins: your choice of cards defines what your character can do on the grid, and both players are working from the same rules, so the win comes from the build you brought and how you play it. There is also Online Co-op for tackling content alongside others, and Remote Play Together for sharing a session with a friend who does not have the game. Between matches, the campaign gives the group plenty of ground to compare decks and strategies against.
Before you start
Plan to spend time in the deck-building menus before your first serious match. With thousands of attacks available, picking a coherent set takes longer than picking a few strong cards, and the character you pair it with matters just as much. The campaign scales up in difficulty, so expect to revisit your deck and adjust as you go rather than settling on one build for the whole run. If you want to go further, the in-game creative center lets you build mods without writing code — you can make your own maps, characters and builds and share them, and the game is marked as moddable, so community-made content is part of the experience.
