A modern take on classic brick-breaking
DX-Ball 2: 20th Anniversary Edition is a re-mastered version of Seumas McNally's fan-favourite breakout game, retaining the classic brick-breaking action and the unique graphic style of the late 90's original while being updated for modern PCs. The game features 150 boards from the original Board Pack 1, plus an all-new anniversary boardset and widescreen variants. Some of these are dynamic animated boards that change as you play. You can switch between the new high-res board textures or the original 90's graphics at any time.
Power-ups and gameplay
The game includes 20 classic power-ups alongside new additions like the gravity-ball and lightning. The punch paddle lets you shoot the ball extra fast to instantly break multi-hit bricks, while the gravity push/pull paddle moves the ball from a distance. You can collect in-game charms for extra points and achievements, and saved games let you save your progress and continue later. There are also online leaderboards to compete for the best score, and a "Classic" mode that uses only the original features and graphics.
Playing together and creating content
While the game is tagged as singleplayer, it supports Steam's Remote Play Together feature, which lets friends join in over the internet. The game also includes editing tools and full workshop support for creating and sharing custom boardsets with the community, so your group can build and play each other's boards.
