A card game played on a basketball court

Dream Team Basketball is a card battler that takes the shape of a 5vs5 basketball match. Instead of grinding down health bars and mana pools, you are scoring points, passing the ball, moving your players around the court and managing your lineup. The match format is short but packed with tactical decisions, and it leans on familiar strategy systems like blocking and stealing as its defensive layers rather than armor or evasion. There is no critical strike chance, but three-point shooting is in play, so taking a shot from deep will earn you more points when it lands.

Building your squad

The deck building side is where most of your time goes. There are over 360 player cards to collect, inspired by basketball and the NBA, and each one comes with its own mix of three skills, up to four passives and various traits. With over 450 players and more than 400 traits and skills in the pool, the combinations you can assemble are wide open, letting you chase different playstyles and set up unusual combos between cards. Your starting five sets the tone for how the match plays out, while seven bench players give you options to shift strategy mid-game when the situation calls for it.

Playing together and what to expect

Online PvP is where the competitive side lives, so your group can test their decks against each other and see whose team holds up under pressure. The design aims for easy to learn, hard to master, which makes it approachable for a first session but leaves plenty of room to dig deeper into the tactics over time. Keep in mind that Dream Team Basketball is still in development. The design changes regularly, new game systems are planned, and the overall polish is still being worked on, so expect the experience to shift as the game grows.
