What DIG - Deep In Galaxies is

DIG - Deep In Galaxies is a 2D action platformer with roguelike runs and procedurally generated levels. You hijack a spaceship, land on planets you pick yourself, and fight through them to weaken the Overlord's army. Movement is the core of it: double jumps to clear gaps, grappling hooks to swing across chasms, and digging through destructible terrain to open your own routes. Missions differ per planet, so you can take the ones that suit how you want to play, or ignore the main push entirely and spend time on challenges and mini-games. Runs carry perma death, and the levels are rebuilt each time, so no two trips through a planet play out the same.

Playing it together

Up to 4 players can play local co-op, and Steam Remote Play lets friends join from online. You can also switch to Battle mode, an all vs. all fight if the group would rather turn on each other. Co-op runs are about splitting the work: one player digging shortcuts, another hooking across a chasm, everyone piling on a boss. Rewards come after every battle, so the group banks money, weapons and potions together and can spend gold at space stations between fights. Classes matter here — there are 9 to unlock, and different players can pick ones that fit their role instead of everyone building the same way.

Before you start

Expect a difficult game; the tags list it as difficult with perma death, so runs end and you start over. The build depth is large: over 200 items and 180 skills, which means you will not see everything in a session or two, and finding synergies between what you loot is a big part of the fun. Levels are procedurally generated and destructible, so plan on exploring every corner for chests and gear rather than running straight to the exit. If you are setting up Remote Play, one person owns the session and the others join through it. Decide as a group whether you are cooperating toward the galaxy's liberation or playing Battle mode, since that changes the whole evening.
