A companion app for a tabletop campaign
Descent: Legends of the Dark is a companion app for the Descent: Legends of the Dark board game from Fantasy Flight Games. One player downloads the free app on a compatible device, and the app runs the game for the group. It decides how each quest is set up, keeps track of your party's inventory, skills and progress, resolves combat, and tells the narrative story as you go. The campaign takes place across the fantasy realm of Terrinoth, moving through forests, dungeons and open landscapes.
Playing together around the table
Each player takes the role of a hero with their own playstyle and abilities, and the group works together rather than against each other. The adventure is built for one to four players. Since the app handles setup and bookkeeping, the players can focus on their decisions and on talking through tactics with the people they are playing with. The app can also save your campaign, so a group can pick up where they left off across several sessions rather than finishing everything in one sitting.
