What Deducto is

Deducto is a hidden role game for 6 to 10 players online, set in an office. One side tries to murder everyone, the other side tries to figure out who the murderers are and vote them out. It follows the structure of other hidden role games but adds its own twists, taking inspiration from Among Us and Trouble in Terrorist Town. Expect cameras, vents, unique tasks, multiple weapons and multiple roles to work with. The tone is casual and funny, and a lot of the fun comes from the dialogue and the ways you can harass your friends around the office.

How your group plays it together

You play in an online lobby with your friends, either as a team trying to survive or as a murderer trying to pick people off. Proximity voice chat is built in, so whoever is standing near you can hear you — that means lying, bluffing and arguing happen out loud, in the moment, rather than through menus. Tasks give the innocent side something concrete to do while the killers move around using vents and cameras to stay hidden. Between the roles, the weapons and the voice chat, no two rounds play out the same way, and the social part is just as important as the mechanical part.

Before you start

Character customization is available, so you can make your co-worker look the way you want before the round begins. Since the game is built around 6 to 10 players, you need a group of that size to fill a lobby, so it suits a Discord crew that can get enough people online at once. Be ready for backstabbing: the game is designed so that you will betray your co-workers and then get angry when they betray you. That is the whole point, and it works best with people who will take it as a joke.
