One giant, a few knights

DAVIGO is a physics-based battle game where one side is enormous and the other side is not. A single player takes the GIANT role in VR and fights with their whole body: pound the ground, rip trees and stones out of the earth, and throw whatever you can grab at the opposition. On the PC side, players take the KNIGHT role and fight back with a Grapple Beam for fast movement, a Hammer to send attacks back, and Rockets aimed at shattering the GIANT's head into pieces. The match always needs one GIANT in VR and at least one KNIGHT on PC, so the two sides are never evenly matched in size.

Playing together

Matches run locally or online, and the KNIGHT side supports between one and four PC players. That means one friend straps on the headset while the rest of the group plays on PC, either in the same room or over the internet. KNIGHT players can join without owning the full game through the DAVIGO KNIGHT'S PASS, so a group only needs one person with the VR side set up to start fighting. The setup is deliberately lopsided: the GIANT is a boss to be toppled, and the KNIGHTS have to coordinate their movement and firepower to bring it down.

Maps, modes, and modding

There are 7 official maps, ranging from the hellish sacrificial pit of ALTAR to the snowy peak of SUMMIT, and 4 game modes. BRAWL is the straightforward fight to the death, TOWER and CAPTURE add secondary objectives on top of the combat, and CLASSIC strips the arsenal down to recreate the DAVIGO Alpha experience. Beyond the built-in content, mod.io support lets you download custom maps made by other players. If you want to build your own, the DAVIGO Map Editor is a free Unity package that hooks into mod.io so other players can browse, download, and rate what you make. The game is in Early Access, so expect things to still be changing.
