A murder in the mansion
Clue/Cluedo: Classic Edition is the official digital version of Hasbro’s classic mystery board game. You arrive at a party, the host’s body is found at the bottom of the stairs, and the house goes on lockdown until the case is solved. The answer comes down to three things: which suspect, which weapon, and which room. There are six suspects, six weapons, and nine rooms, so only one combination is correct. At the start of each game one suspect, one weapon, and one room are removed from the deck, and the rest of the cards are dealt out to the players.
Playing together
Gather up to 6 players and take on one of Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Doctor Orchid, Reverend Green, Mrs. Peacock, or Professor Plum. You roll the dice and move between the rooms, then make a suggestion such as “was it Colonel Mustard with the Rope in the Drawing Room”. Whoever holds the Colonel, the Rope, or the Drawing Room must show you a card. Online multiplayer supports up to 6 players, and there are private games for playing with friends and family. Cross-platform multiplayer lets you play together on PC, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. There is also a Single Player Mode against customisable AI suspects.
Deduction and the Cluesheet
The virtual Cluesheet keeps track of the cards you have been shown and crosses them off your list automatically, and you can add ticks and crosses of your own. Listening matters as much as asking: pay attention to what the other investigators ask and who replies, since you may find answers without asking anything yourself. Once you know the answer, you have to be on the scene of the crime to make your accusation, so roll the dice and get to the correct room. An incorrect accusation eliminates you from the game, so be sure before you show your hand. Weekly online leaderboards let you out-smart players around the world, and The Ultimate Detective’s Package unlocks 10 themes that transform the suspects, weapons, and locations.
