What Clash of Chefs VR is
Clash of Chefs VR is a competitive cooking game where you race to finish orders, serve them to hungry customers, and generally cause chaos in the kitchen. You can play 100 single player stages split across five unique restaurants, or take on human opponents in real-time and asynchronous competitive multiplayer across four unique restaurants. The game is built for VR with 6DOF movement, so you are physically grabbing ingredients, tossing pizzas, and slapping opponents with leftovers when things go wrong. The quicker you turn each order around, the happier the customer will be, but more complex recipes will test the reactions of even the most seasoned chefs.
Playing together with your group
Clash of Chefs VR supports Online Co-op and Online PvP, so your group can team up or go head-to-head. In real-time multiplayer you race other chefs directly, while asynchronous multiplayer lets you compete against opponents on your own schedule. The game leans into the social side of VR: you can throw food at opponents, slap them with your leftovers, and generally let off steam when a customer gives you lip. The developers run a Discord community where players swap stories and recipes and give feedback, so that is a good place to coordinate with your group and find matches.
The five restaurants
Each restaurant brings its own recipes, mechanics, and pressure. The American diner has you building burgers to order, frying fries, and cooking patties while bacon sizzles and drinks slosh. The Italian restaurant has you tossing and stretching pizzas, cooking pasta, and shredding cheese in a high-pressure environment with a new waiter and fiery Mediterranean tempers. The sushi restaurant skips the cooking but demands lightning fast reactions with a wide range of ingredients, plus warm ramen with freshly cooked noodles if you prefer your food cooked. The Mexican restaurant has you mastering tortillas, building burritos, and piling salsa on nachos, with cold beverages on the side. The Chinese restaurant stacks steamers and keeps the wok smoking while you craft dumplings, fry stir-fried favorites, and multitask under pressure.
Before you start
The game uses smart tech to keep ingredients sitting nicely on their plates no matter how hard you throw them, which helps when you are moving fast. Expect a learning curve as recipes get more complex and customer requests pile up. Throwing food at random is part of the fun, and the developers hint that you might unlock a secret achievement or discover an Easter egg while doing it. The game is tagged as Early Access, so expect it to still be in development.
