Two Flash brawlers in one collection
Chaos Faction Legacy Collection brings back Chaos Faction and Chaos Faction 2 in their original format. Both are 2D arena brawlers from the Flash era: you pick a fighter, grab weapons, and knock opponents around creative, hazardous levels. The first game focuses on fast arena combat with character customization and a choice of weapons. The sequel expands that with 15 campaign levels, more weapons, characters and moves, three bonus characters, and a final fight against the Hypergon. Progress through the campaign unlocks new fighters and gear as you go.
Playing together
The collection supports Local Co-Op, so you and a friend can sit on the same machine and fight side by side or against each other. Remote Play Together is also listed, which lets someone join over a connection rather than being in the same room. Alongside co-op, the tags include local multiplayer and PvP, so matches can be competitive as well as cooperative. Either way, the setup is simple: pick characters, pick a level, and start swinging.
Modes and replay value
Campaign mode is the progression path, where each win unlocks characters and weapons. Deathmatch lets you set your own rules and build out maps, enemies, and allies to your liking, which is where the level editor tag comes in. Survival throws increasingly difficult waves of foes at you and tests how long you last. Between the two games, the modes, the unlockable fighters, and the editable setups give you plenty of reasons to run things back.
Before you start
This is a retro, cartoony beat 'em up with fast-paced shooting and fighting mixed together, so expect chaos on screen rather than precise, technical combat. The tag list covers robots, vampires, zombies and pirates among the cast, and character customization is available in the original game. Singleplayer is fully supported if nobody else is around. The two titles are presented as they originally were, so the older design of the first game still shows through next to the more expanded sequel.
