Coach a team of Beasties through the league
Beastieball is a turn-based volleyball RPG where you build a team of Beasties and take them from their first matches all the way to the CROWN SERIES. The open world is mapped out from the start: every Ranked coach appears on your map, and you can take them on in whatever order you like. Each boss you defeat makes the remaining ones stronger, so the path you choose decides how hard your rise to the top gets. Along the way you'll meet friends, rivals, corporate sponsors, and a mysterious Sports King with grand ambitions.
Matches play out on a tactics grid
Every match is a strategic turn-based encounter on a tiny tactics grid. When your team has the ball, you pick from several actions to pass and set up a strong attack. When the other team has the ball, you have to read what's coming and make a defense play. Each Beastie has its own traits, strengths and weaknesses, and the ways they combine with each other give every match a lot of depth. Expect matches that reward planning over quick reflexes.
Relationships unlock combo moves
Your Beasties' teamwork is driven by the relationships they build with each other. A pair can become BESTIES, PARTNERS, RIVALS or SWEETHEARTS, and each relationship type grants a combo move that is unique to that specific pair. Building the right combinations matters as much as picking the right Beastie, since a well-timed combo can turn a tough match around.
Beating coaches opens up more than ranking
Ranked coaches you defeat stick around and become available to hang out with, which lets you build friendships and see extra story content. Character customization lets you shape how your side looks as you go. Note that Beastieball is in Early Access, so content and balance may still be changing as you play, and the online PvP side of the game will continue to develop over time.
