Command from your own bridge

BattleGroupVR puts you on the bridge of your flagship instead of above the map. You are the battle group commander, and you are part of the fight: your ship is in the thick of it alongside the captains and warships you send in. Battles run in real time, and the controls were built specifically for VR so you can direct a 3D space combat environment without fighting the interface. Real-time with pause and bullet time are among the game's tags, so there is room to slow things down and think when the situation gets busy.

Building the fleet you fight with

Before and between engagements you assemble your battlegroup. Ships come in several roles: fast striking corvettes, long-range missile destroyers, electronic warfare science vessels, carriers, and battleships, each with its own special abilities, characteristics, and weapon slots. You equip them from a wide selection of weapons and components — heavy cannons, missile launchers, point defense lasers and more — so the fleet covers different capabilities and is ready for whatever shows up. Captains matter as much as hulls: each one brings a beneficial ability, and pairing the right captain with the right ship can turn a fight. Ships and units grow with you over your conquests, and losing one is a heavy burden, so pick your captains and your commitments carefully.

Playing with friends

BattleGroupVR supports online co-op and online PvP, so you can take the bridge with others or face off against another group. The singleplayer tags are there too, for when you want to run the sector on your own. Either way the job is the same: assemble the fleet, upgrade load-outs, train captains, engage the enemy, and hold the sector — while trying not to go down with the ship.
