What Battle Ball Is
Battle Ball is a goofy online multiplayer dodgeball game with explosions and loose rules. Matches are 3 v 3 and run for under 3 minutes, with the goal of knocking out as many opponents as you can before time runs out. It plays like a twin-stick shooter viewed from a top-down 3D perspective, so you move your player with one stick and aim and throw with the other. The tone stays casual and arcade-like rather than competitive or tactical.
Playing With Your Group
Your group can team up together in the 3 v 3 matches, filling out a side and coordinating throws against the other team. If your group has fewer players, you can also join matches alongside random players and pick up teammates that way. Since a full team is three, a group of three can queue up as a complete side. Matches are short, so a group can cycle through several games in a session without a long commitment.
Before You Start
Version 1.1 added a single-player mode where you can battle bots, which is useful if your group is not all online at once or if you want to practice before joining a match. Playing in matches earns Dodgebucks, a currency you can spend on hats and outfits to change how your character looks. The game is free to play and built by Dad Hat Games, an independent studio run by a single developer.
