A neon dodgeball FPS
Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball is a first-person sports shooter where you play a mustachio'd unicycle robot. You race around skate park and dance club arenas, using skateboard-style movement to build speed and launch yourself into the air for trick shots. Combat follows classic dodgeball rules: one hit from a ball takes you out, so you need to dodge, deflect, and catch incoming fire while lining up your own throws. The arenas are packed with neon lights that pulse to the beat of an electronic soundtrack, and a monster truck announcer calls the action.
Playing together
Your group can play together in several ways. Split-screen local multiplayer supports up to 4 players for both competitive PvP and co-op challenges, so you can share one screen. Online multiplayer rooms are easy to set up as public or unlisted games without needing any server knowledge, and there are no queues to wait in. LAN play is also supported. Remote Play Together lets friends join in over the internet as well. The game includes 21 multiplayer modes plus solo and co-op challenges, ranging from classic Elimination to Hoops and Grand Prix racing. Co-op challenges have you team up against bots with scenario-specific powerups and chase leaderboard high scores.
Before you start
There is a lot you can tweak before a match. An in-game rule editor lets you mutate and remix the 27 objective-based modes to build your own variants. You can also enable permanent arena modifiers like Jetpacks, Huge Dodgeballs, Laser Balls, and Boomerang Balls, or grab them as random pickups during play. Outside of multiplayer, there are offline bot matches, solo challenges, and a randomized Arcade mode where you fight waves of bots and bosses with perk combinations. Cosmetics such as hats, robot bodies, wheels, decals, sunglasses, moustaches, and ball FX can be crafted from random drops, traded, or sold, and Steam Workshop support lets you submit your own cosmetic items. One important note: the game contains lots of flashing lights, so there is a photosensitive mode in the options that disables lasers, bright explosions, and beat-synced pulsing lights.
