What Automobilista 2 is
Automobilista 2 is a motorsport simulator from Reiza Studios that puts a wide range of cars and tracks into one package. You can drive rental karts in downtown Sao Paulo, historic Grand Prix cars around Monza's banking, Group C prototypes, modern GTs, racing trucks and classic machines like the Lotus 72E, the Porsche 962c and the McLaren F1 GTR. The cars come with the quirks that made motorsports folklore, including the Brabham BT46B fan car and the McLaren MP4-12's brake steer system. Venues span five continents, so the variety of driving experiences is the main draw rather than one fixed discipline.
Playing together
Online PvP is available, so a group can race against each other on the same car and track combinations. Beyond picking a session, you can build your own events: set up classes, tracks, points systems and weather, choose the exact number of opponents per class, and apply rules and regulations modeled on major real-world series. Oval racing and Full Course Yellow support are part of that ruleset. Custom seasons let a group run a longer competition instead of a single race, and the ongoing monthly updates keep adding cars, tracks, modes and improvements for both single and multiplayer.
Conditions and difficulty
The simulation side is where the challenge lives. Dynamic weather, track condition changes, 24-hour cycles, barometric pressure, wind and temperature all shift from session to session, so laps are rarely identical. Real Weather links to meteorological data: pick the current date and hour at a location and you get the same conditions, including a track that is still drying after recent rain. The system also holds data for every day of the last 40 years at each track, which lets you recreate historical races with weather close to how they actually played out.
Expect a steep learning curve — the game is tagged as difficult and realistic, and it leans toward simulation rather than arcade handling. Graphics are optimized to run well on less powerful systems, and VR support is included for players who want it.
