A physics sandbox set in Swindon
Amazing Frog? is an open-world sandbox built around ragdoll physics, where you play a farting frog in a GTA-style version of Swindon. The world is large and full of odd things to poke at: you can explore Swindonshire, travel beyond the city walls, and even reach the moon. Along the way you unlock new worlds, skins, weapons, vehicles and challenges as part of the Quest for the Magical Mystery Toilet. The tone is silly and chaotic, with physics doing most of the comedy.
Playing together
You can start in single player or move into up to 4 player split-screen with friends. Within that setup you choose how to spend your time: work together in co-op, fight each other in combat, or simply split up and do your own thing. The game also supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over a network connection. Either way, the shared fun comes from throwing ragdoll frogs around town, driving vehicles, and generally causing trouble in a big world.
Earning money and filling your inventory
Swindonshire gives you plenty of ways to make money. You can drive a Taxi, collect trash on 'Bin Day', or look out for other jobs around Swindon. Wildlife can be collected or killed for rewards. The inventory holds a huge range of items: berries and other produce, zombie flesh, jam jars, money, skulls, fish, dead pigeons, and much more. A vacuum speeds up bulk collection when you want to grab things quickly. Money can be loaded into the Bank of Swindon, so getting very rich is a real option.
The Magical Mystery Toilet
The Magical Mystery Toilet is a core mechanic: if it fits, it can flush. Feed items into it to discover their transformative effects, and repeat flushes to intensify the magic. This is worth experimenting with as you gather items, since the effects are part of the discovery. Keep in mind that not every frog in the world wants to be your friend, and there are dangerous creatures out there to watch for. The game is in Early Access, so more items and additions may show up over time.
