A sandbox island full of goat chaos
Goat Simulator 3 puts you in the hooves of Pilgor on the island of San Angora. There is no serious goal here: lick, headbutt, and ruin your way through an open world built on physics, ragdolling, and general mayhem. The game describes itself as a completely stupid sandbox, and it means it. You get a tutorial to explain the basics, then the game hands you the tools and stops telling you how to play. Events, NPCs to mess with, status effects, collectables, and easter eggs are scattered across the island for you to find on your own.
Playing together with your herd
You can invite up to three friends in local or online co-op, so up to four goats total can roam San Angora together. As a group you can create carnage as a team, or compete against each other in mini-games and then not be friends anymore. There are seven mini-games in total. Customisation options let you and your pals dress your goats in all kinds of nonsense, from toilet rolls to tea trays, including jetpacks, so nobody has to wear clashing outfits. Skins cover tall goats, stripey goats, and many more.
What to know before starting
This is a comedy sandbox, not a structured adventure with a story to follow. The physics are intentionally loose and ragdoll-heavy, which is the point rather than a flaw. Steam players get all post-launch content, including the Mandatory Holiday Update, Operation Crackdown, and the Shadiest Update, with more to come. The game first launched in November 2022 and is new to Steam users, though it is technically not completely new.
