What ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers is

ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers is a 2D space sim with a comic coat of paint over real astrophysics. You fly a rusty ship through procedurally generated solar systems, discovering planets, space stations, aliens and artifacts along the way. The simulation runs everything: gravity, temperature, atmosphere, day and night cycles driven by planetary rotation. Nudge an asteroid with your ship and it can come crashing down on you minutes later while you walk around on a planet surface. There are no weapons and no killing, though horrible accidents are on the table. Your main job is improvising fuel-efficient trajectories so the ship survives long enough to reach your home planet. Or you can ignore that and tow a sofa into a black hole.

Playing it together

The game supports 1-4 players in local co-op with dynamic split screen, and Remote Play Together is available if your group is spread across different machines. Everyone shares the same simulated universe, so one player can pilot while another exits the ship to explore on foot in micro gravity, inside asteroid fields or within space stations. Four campaigns can be played solo or cooperatively, and procedural generation means a new setup each time you play. Split screen adjusts to whoever is in the session, so the screen space follows the group.

Before you start

The ship handling is realistic but meant to be intuitive, and orbital mechanics are deep but backed by a friendly interface. If your group mixes experience levels, Rookie mode eases the controls and stops players from doing obviously dangerous things, which makes it workable for parents with young children or for seasoned players with less experienced friends. Expect a physics sandbox more than a combat game: things you do early can have consequences later, and the world keeps running whether you are aboard the ship or walking around on a rock. The soundtrack is original, with saxophone solos.
