A top-down arena auto-battler
Voids Vigil is an action roguelite where your weapons and drones fire on their own while you handle the rest. You dash through bullet hells, hack devices, and trigger special abilities by hand as you cut through endless robotic hordes. The goal of each run is to push through the levels and reach The Void, where a final Conservator Custodian awaits computational convergence. Between levels you spend your Cogs in various shops on new weapons, abilities, drones, and passive items to shape a unique build. Arenas, events, and foes are randomly generated, so no two runs play out the same way.
Playing together with friends
Voids Vigil is tagged as a singleplayer game, but it supports Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in over a stream from one person's copy. Beyond that, the game connects your group through competition: the Steam leaderboards let you and your friends battle for first place. There are also online challenges listed among the available modes. The core loop remains one player controlling a vessel in the arena, with the rest of the group following along and comparing results.
What to know before starting
Runs last between 10 and 40 minutes, so you can fit a quick skirmish or a longer battle into a session. There is a variety of game modes and difficulties to pick from, including a strategic collectable card battling game alongside the arena combat. You unlock and choose from many vessels, each offering a different playstyle, and winning runs with different vessels unlocks powerful items. Weapons come with differing stats and traits, and buyable traits can make projectiles home in or explode in fire; weapons can also be upgraded into mega weapons. Drones cover functions like gun-totting or Cog-sniffing and can be upgraded into mega versions. Abilities you equip are manually triggered and can spawn friendly droids, heal, or spawn more enemies to boost your resources. Weapons and some passive items carry an element affinity that adjusts stats, so a versatile build helps you make use of the various mega weapons. The game supports controller play.
