What Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe is
Each square of the 3x3 game board contains another, smaller, 3x3 game board. Where you make your move in a square of any small board, you send the opponent in the respective square of the big board. 3 in a row in a small board wins the small board and the big square. 3 small boards in a row wins the game. Strategize your play, plan your next move, let the opponent win some small boards, while you win the game. The game offers five modes: classic, classic forget, ultimate, ultimate forget, and ultimate forget total. On the Forget subtype, each 4th move of the same player in a board will erase his oldest move, which removes ties from the boards.
Playing with your group
You can play single-player against the AI, or hot-seat multiplayer from the same PC. Multiplayer also works through LAN or Steam, and Remote Play Together is supported. When the game starts, the player with the X piece moves first and can place it anywhere. Choose O if you want your opponent to open. If an opponent sends you to an already won or draw board, you may go anywhere, so avoid sending them to a closed board. Rankings pair you with users closer to your skill level, and leaderboards and achievements are included.
Before you start
There are 3 levels of difficulty. Easy: the AI tries to send you to boards where it is hardest to move, even if it could win others. Medium: the AI always tries to win small boards. Hard: the AI wins small boards when that does not give you an advantage next move, balancing winning against not handing you the upper hand, with a random element for varied play. A draw board counts for neither X nor O.
