What Ultimate Racing 2D is
Ultimate Racing 2D is a top-down racing game with a wide spread of disciplines. You get 35 racing classes and more than 300 cars, ranging from Formula Cars and motorbikes to trucks, tractors, forklifts, quads, karts and GT cars. The track list runs past 45 circuits across all continents, covering road courses, ovals, dirt ovals, historic tracks, karting circuits and ice speedway tracks. Career mode takes you from Karts up to Formula Racing, and there is also Championship mode and Quick Race mode. Races run with up to 20 cars on track, with pit stop, qualifying and boost options, plus customizable teams, weather effects and a spectator mode.
Playing together
Groups can race each other online with up to 20 players, or sit together for local multiplayer with up to 8 players. Remote Play Together is supported, so someone with the game can bring friends along into a session. Quick Race is the fastest way to get a grid going, and you can build your own custom championship if the group wants a longer run of races. Keyboard and controller are both supported, which helps when several people share one machine.
Before you start
Expect a mix of handling styles rather than one unified feel: open-wheel cars, oval racing, dirt racing, historic racing, touring cars and sports car racing all behave differently, and the physics aim to reflect that. The AI puts up a fight in races, so clean laps matter. Weather effects change the look and feel of a session, and the spectator mode lets someone watch instead of drive. Check that everyone has a controller handy if you plan on local multiplayer, since the game supports both keyboard and controller input.
