What TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2 Bush Rescue is
This is a remastered version of an open world 3D platformer set in the Australian Outback. You play as TY, a Tasmanian Tiger, and your main tools are a rang you throw, biting, smashing and gliding. The world is large and meant to be explored, with 18 rangs to collect along the way. Alongside the platforming there are vehicles and mechs to drive and pilot, so sections of the game shift from on-foot exploration to riding around. The story picks up with the town of CURRAWONG under attack and BOSS CASS stirring again, after an earlier battle where CASS tried to gather five mystic talismans to banish every warm blooded creature to the DREAMING. You help the people of the SOUTHERN RIVERS deal with his schemes.
Playing it together
The Steam features list Remote Play Together, which lets friends join in over a connection rather than needing their own copy. The game also includes two-player split-screen cart racing, so two people can race side by side on one screen. The rest of the adventure is tagged as singleplayer, so the shared play is focused on the racing mode and on taking turns or watching along through Remote Play Together.
Before you start
The remaster brings updated shadows and reflections, HD resolutions and 60fps, plus Steamworks achievements and leaderboards. You can customize TY with new skins and give the fourbie new paint jobs. Expect a collectathon structure: you will be picking up rangs and working through an open world rather than following a tight linear path. The game is listed as Early Access, so it may still be getting changes. It is tagged family friendly, and the tone is a lighthearted Aussie adventure with a great soundtrack behind it.
