What TUNNEL DIVERS is
TUNNEL DIVERS is a fast 2D twin stick shooter set in tight space tunnels. You pilot a small ship built for close quarters combat, and the whole game pushes you to keep moving while you fight. Hordes of robots fill the corridors, and the rogue AI called Watch Dog is the enemy you wage war against. The ship you fly can be loaded out with different weapons and special modules, ranging from long range laser guns to miniature nuclear bombs, plus equipment you unlock by earning money from completed matches. There is also a single player campaign with 20 hand-made missions and 4 boss fights, where you can tune your loadout either for speedrunning or for surviving the tougher superior performance review missions.
Playing together with your group
Online co-op is the main way a group runs this game. Gauntlet mode is the cooperative option, where you and your friends push through robot hordes together. If your group would rather fight each other, Capture the Flag and Dogfight are there for that, and more modes are on the way. The ship loadout customization matters in both cases: you spec your ship before the match, so a group can mix roles and weapon setups rather than everyone running the same thing. Reflexes and aim decide who comes out on top, so expect the pace to stay high once the shooting starts.
Levels, Workshop and things to know
The level editor lets you build your own maps, and Workshop support means you can join matches on player made maps without downloading the files yourself first. That applies to single player missions made by friends and competitive multiplayer maps made by strangers. The game is free to play with no pay-to-win, so nothing you buy puts another pilot ahead of you in a match. It is tagged as difficult, so expect a steep curve before your aim and movement settle in. The soundtrack was composed in full by Gergely Kovács.
